Paul McAreavey FCA

Paul qualified as a chartered accountant (ACA) in 1991 with MacIntyre Hudson Chartered Accountants, London.
Having qualified he returned to Northern Ireland and joined Blythe Grace Chartered Accountants.
He set up PGM Chartered Accountants in 2001 and has a wide range of experience in all aspects of general practice.
In 2011 Paul was admitted as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
PGM Chartered Accountants have made a number of acquisitions.

Helen qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) in 1999 with Baker Tilly, Birmingham.
Helen was accredited fourth in the order of merit in the West Midlands and Worcestershire area at final level.
Since qualifying Helen has specialised in audit with Baker Tilly in Birmingham and Ernst Young in Dublin.
Helen joined PGM Chartered Accountants as an audit manager in July 2005 and was promoted to senior audit manager in March 2011.Audit Manager
Samantha Martin ACA

Samantha commenced her chartered accountancy training with Deloitte’s Belfast in August 2007 and transferred her training contract to PGM Chartered Accountants in January 2009.
Samantha completed her training contract and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) in November 2011 with PGM Chartered Accountants.
In addition to audit work Samantha works on accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.

Michelle worked as a legal secretary for ten years at C&H Jefferson Solicitors and Cleaver Fulton Rankin Solicitors before joining the PGM tax department as a tax trainee in June 2008.
Michelle works on all aspects of personal and corporate tax compliance and tax consultancy.
Michelle is currently studying towards the ATT qualification.

Kathy completed her Institute of Accounting Technicians in Ireland exams in October 2008. Kathy achieved 2nd place in Ireland in her Accounting Technician’s exams.
Kathy completed her training with PGM Chartered Accountants and qualified as a Certified Accountant (ACCA) in October 2011.
Kathy manages the Belfast Office accounts department and works on accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.

Ruth Kerr ACCA
Ruth joined PGM Chartered Accountants in November 2011.
Ruth completed her training with Robinson and Co. Chartered Accountants, Portadown and qualified as a Certified Accountant (ACCA) in June 2006.
Ruth manages the Lurgan Office accounts department and works on accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.

Jan worked as an accounts clerk for EW Best & Co since 1996.
Jan continues in her role as accounts clerk and is based at our Lurgan branch.
Jan works on all aspects of bookkeeping including completion of online VAT returns and payroll returns for clients.
Brendan was the Principal of EW Best & Co since the early 1970’s.

Jacqueline worked as a Law Searcher with W Macartney & Co from 1995 to 2009.
Jacqueline is involved in the practice administration of the Belfast and Lurgan offices and also assists the Tax Department with preparation of client payroll.
Jacqueline joined PGM as practice manager in June 2009.
In addition we have established links and close working relationships with many specialists to enhance the range of skills and services we offer.
